BOOTSTRAP

The purpose of the Bootstrap Website project was to introduce the class to the Bootstrap Framework and its uses with CSS. This assignment gave the class the opportunity to learn the basic fundamentals of Bootstrap and its ease of use and reusability. We prepared a responsive web layout design utilizing Bootstrap. In designing the website, we were introduced to the concept of media queries and breakpoints.

The Client Blog project introduced us to the experience of designing a website for a client from start to finish. We were assigned clients and had to design a website based on the client’s style choices and preferences. The primary objective of the assignment was to teach the class how to utilize the graphic design theory and principles we learned in class and apply them in a simulated but real world setting. We were given our client’s color, and font selections, as well as the type of website our client wanted and who their target audience was. After reviewing the written information, we supplemented our written information with a client interview. Along with layout design, the concepts introduced in this assignment included learning how to utilize Affinity with a web layout, selecting, downloading, and linking Google Fonts to our website, incorporating background images as well as photographic images, and using buttons and social media icons.
BASKIN ROBBINS
Name: Baskin-Robbins

Details:The UX Project was the first team project assignment. Our hypothetical client, Baskin-Robbins, wanted us to evaluate their website and identify any improvements we felt would be helpful from their current design. During this assignment, we developed user personas and utilized user research to identify design problems and solve them. The key concepts presented were exposure to User Design, User Information and Information Architecture. We were able to create wireframes, user personas, and a prototype that showcased our solution after conducting mock interviews. We then prepared a slide presentation to present our findings to our hypothetical client and other interested stakeholders.
THE TRIBUTE
Name: The Tribute

The purpose of the Tribute Project was to introduce the class to the basics of HTML and CSS styling using internal styles. The project introduced the concept of a basic layout using semantic elements to design the framework. Coding concepts included using unordered lists and coding format and style. The layout included a header, body and footer as well as an image element. Anchor and image elements were introduced along with their corresponding attributes. The concept of folder hierarchy was also emphasized. Styling figures as well as figcaption were also included.

SNOWMAN
Name: The Snowman

The Snowman was our first web coding assignment using Visual Studio Code.The coding project introduced the class to the concepts of semantic elements and their importance in web design. This assignment taught us the importance of proper syntax, tags and elements. Unordered lists, list items and line breaks were utilized. We also learned how to link images and the accompanying attributes of alt, source, height and width.
